Songs of Stone is a 2023 collaborative EP and multimedia project released by Subsound Records, featuring the union of three distinct artistic figures: Malcolm McDowell, Massimo Pupillo, and Gabriele Tinti.
The work is a blend of poetry, theater, and music, aimed at bridging the gap between ancient ritual/mythology and the present, inspired by the "songs" carved into stone by ancient peoples to oppose the transience of life.
It is a 10" vinyl release (also available digitally) containing a moody, atmospheric soundscape that serves as a backdrop to the narration. The music is characterized by heavy, melodic bass lines, dark drones, and experimental noise elements.
