Mulla is a raw/atmospheric black metal project that, despite initially claiming origins in Iraq, is believed to be based in Kazakhstan. Founded around 2019–2020 by musicians identified as Shahram and Shukri, the band is known for a highly enigmatic profile, with conflicting information about their location, often using Arabic, Kazakh, or Russian, and creating a "cultural hybrid" that utilizes Islamic imagery for artistic, rather than religious or political, purposes.
